Philadelphia and Pennsylvania suburbs are behind in meeting their open space preservation goals.

"More than 8,000 acres in Philadelphia and its Pennsylvania suburbs were preserved as open space last year, but more must be done to hold off development, according to a report being released today in Valley Forge...The open space and farmland were preserved through government programs and private nonprofit initiatives."
