Plans would replace a parking lot for a BART station with a mixed use development.
Commuters and residents are skeptical about a proposed "transit village" around the Pleasant Hill BART station in Contra Costa County. Plans would replace what is now the parking lot for the station with apartments, office space, restaurants, street level retail, a commuter plaza, and a parking garage. City officials and developers are optimistic that the plans would revitalize the area , but commuters are concerned that the project would make parking difficult and complicate their commute. They also worry that building the new garage would be an inconvenience, and that the project itself would take a great deal of time to implement.
