New Partners for Smart Growth Conference

New Partners for Smart Growth Conference

Local Government Commission

This year's New Partners for Smart Growth conference will be held
January 26-29, 2006 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Denver, Colorado. This
year's program and sponsor list reflects the growing support for smarter
growth within the business community and with their health care
partners. As health care costs loom larger over the public and private
sector alike, there is a growing agreement that we have engineered
activity and healthy habits out of most peoples' lives. Building
activity back in, however, is more than a public health angle, and one
that this conference has addressed over the past four years. Whether the
topic is transportation options or housing, speakers and workshop
leaders take on the details that matter. Denver is an ideal location to
showcase those details as they relate to building communities that serve
the economy, the environment and those who live, work and visit them.
Highlights of the conference include tours from the Denver experts who
have made places like Stapleton Airport and Lower Downtown happen,
workshops on form based codes, effective state policies and how water
policies can link to smart growth planning.
While many sessions will explore new trends and technical details, there
are also sessions for those who are new to smart growth and livable
communities. Plan now to attend this exciting conference.
