Request for Proposals: EPA seeks Smart Growth INDEX Partners
US Environmental Protection Agency
The Development, Community, and Environment Division of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking 20 communities to become Smart Growth INDEX Partner sites. Smart Growth INDEX (SGI) is a modeling tool that provides state and local government agencies, regional planning organizations, and the public with comparisons of different transportation and development scenarios.
EPA developed SGI as a tool to help communities explore development options that protect the environment, enhance community quality of life, and achieve economic benefits. The tool is designed to help measure relative impacts of different development scenarios on the community and region using various environmental and other performance indicators.
Proposals will be accepted through June 14, 2002.
