2002 Regional Assembly: Rebuilding Downtown New York: Friday, April 26, New York, New York

Regional Plan Association

Join Regional Plan Association (RPA) and the Civic Alliance to Rebuild Downtown New York at RPA's twelfth annual Regional Assembly on Friday, April 26. Leading public officials and business leaders, academics and professionals who have participated in Civic Alliance working groups will present their findings and recommendations based on workshops and forums held earlier this year. Participants will discuss plans for a living memorial; improved transportation and access; new civic amenities; urban design and development guidelines; goals for social and economic justice; and the changing shape of our region's economic geography, among other issues. The public will have the opportunity to debate the issues presented by the panelists, which the Alliance will consider when designing a development program for the district.

The Assembly will feature a keynote address by The Honorable George Pataki, Governor of New York and a morning plenary session moderated by The New Yorker magazine architecture critic, Paul Goldberger. Please join us on April 26th for these critically important events-and participate in rebuilding the heart of our metropolitan region.
