New Urbanism and Smart Growth: A Research Symposium

The National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education and the University of Maryland School of Architecture will hold a research symposium focused on new urbanism and smart growth May 3 - 5, 2002. The symposium will feature presentations from experts on new urbanism and smart growth, and related topics such as transportation, environment, public health, technology and urban form, city patterns, and social equity. Sessions will address issues facing planners and architects. The intent of the symposium is to provide a forum for discussing research that pertains to new urbanism and smart growth and to develop a research agenda for the years ahead.
