Smart City Looks at Today's Urban Issues With Internationally Reknowned Guests
Produced at the WKNO FM Stations in Memphis, Tennessee, "Smart City" looks at the news, trends and events that affect cities by bringing in nationally and internationally reknowned guests for a penetrating discussion on urban issues.
Topics have included Strategies for Smart Growth, Creating Great Public Spaces, In Search of Community in America Today, Great Good Places and How Free Agents Are Changing Cities.
Each week, host Carol Coletta talks with experts in a variety of fields including artists, architects, authors, planners and civic leaders about the good, the bad and the unusual in today's urban areas.
Some of the names on our guest list have been featured in the national media and on National Public Radio programs. We've talked with syndicated columnist Neal Pierce from the Washingotn Post Writers Group; Fred Kent, founder and president of Project for Public Spaces; Michelle Nunn, executive director of CityCares, an association of 31 volunteer organizations across the U.S. and U.K.
But that's only a sampling of the people who've appeared on the show.
And each week, Yankelovich Partners president J. Walker Smith shares his thoughts on city life in his weekly "City Views" column.
