The Boston Museum Project will occupy a full block on the emerging Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, and will be a center for residents and visitors interested in Massachusetts's rich history.
Turnpike Authority chairman Matthew J. Amorello said in a press release that the Boston Museum Project, which had competed for but lost out on two previous Greenway locations, has been designated to build a 125,000-square-foot facility on the block.
"I have great confidence in the Museum Project's commitment," Amorello said, a possible allusion to a recent decision by the YMCA of Greater Boston to withdraw its proposal for a fitness facility and community center three blocks north of where the museum hopes to build.
