Legal bowhunting in Northern Virginia has some homeowners in one community of million dollar homes up in arms.
In Virgina, bowhunting is legal to control the deer population even in the suburban counties of Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William. Some homeowners are organizing hunts to control an overpopulation of deer causing damage to their landscapes. Neighbors in one community of million dollar homes on multi-acre lots are pushing for restrictions to keep the bowhunters away. "They would like Fairfax County to impose some limits, such as a regulation banning a hunt within 150 yards of a home, which is the law in Maryland. Deer hunting is prohibited in the District."
