"Austin's leading real estate development group joined the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday in opposing a proposed ban on so-called big-box retail stores in environmentally sensitive Southwest Austin...environmentalists and neighborhood groups, argue that big-box retailers would lead to increases in traffic and pollution. They also raise concerns about goods such stores carry that could damage water quality in the event of a catastrophe, such as a fire or an explosion."
