MIT is making its course materials available to the world for free from its website -- including 35 urban planning courses.
Now over a year since the launch of its impressive pilot 'Open CourseWare' initiative, MIT has published everything from class syllabuses to lecture videos for 500+ courses, including 35 urban planning courses. MIT hopes the ambitious project will spark a Web-based revolution in the way universities share information. By 2007, MIT expects to have as many as 2,000 courses online. In addition to syllabi, recommended reading, course vidoes, and course videos, faculty have published problem sets, student projects, and past exams.
