Urban children are no more likely to die from gunfire than rural youth

In a study of 24,000 deaths, Pediatrics journal has found that rural death rates of American children are comparative to those killed by guns among urban youth.

Though death by firearm is more common in the city, "suicide and accidental fatal shootings" prevail among rural youth, reports the Associated Press.
