Senior Development Planner (Long Range Planning)

Under general direction and in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, assists with the City’s planning functions and administering the City’s development code and related ordinances, providing a high level of effective customer service. Provides support for both staff-led and consultant-driven planning projects, initiatives, and implementation strategies. Attends board and community meetings that extend beyond the normal work schedule. Serves as liaison to Planning Commission, coordinating agenda item processes, facilitating meetings, and preparing staff reports. Provides technical assistance to City staff and public regarding land development regulations. Coordinates the City’s annexation efforts and other assigned projects in the department’s annual work plan. Works with developers to improve compliance of proposed developments with adopted City plans, regulations, and design guidelines. Administers the Greenville Development Code and related ordinances. Researches and prepares amendments to the land development regulations. Investigates violations of the Greenville Development Code. Reviews development proposals to ensure compliance with land development regulations.
