Position Purpose:
The Mobility Coordinator position will support the COO in the coordination, implementation and management of a range of primarily First and Last Mile Mobility (FLMM) programs and services that are meant to enhance mobility, accessibility, quality of life and economic opportunity for the residents and visitors of the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) service area.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
- Coordinate and organize activities to support First and Last Mile Mobility, including RFTA’s Regional Bikeshare plan, and other multimodal plans, programs and projects that support RFTA’s regional transit service.
- Administer RFTA’s Regional Bikeshare Plan and the FLMM Reserve grant program and projects that are funded through it.
- Develop new FLMM programs, partnership services and products to leverage emerging mobility services and technology, and to enhance RFTA’s suite of mobility services.
- Represent RFTA’s FLMM programs in a wide range of settings including inter-agency collaborations, project meetings, and professional conferences.
- Manage and coordinate planning projects, consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Prepare correspondence, information, reports, and presentations for the RFTA Board of Directors and Staff, internal and external audiences.
- Participate in the selection of consultants, technology and contractors.
- Work effectively with other RFTA Departments, member jurisdictions, professionals, contractors, and public.
- Support state and local coordination planning and policy bodies such as regional partnering agencies and funding partners.
- Gather and analyzes data to evaluate mobility service options for residents and visitors, including persons with disabilities, the elderly and the transportation disadvantaged, to design the most efficient and cost-effective options possible.
- Assist in the development of strategies and grant preparation for seeking other funding sources and to leverage existing funding with State, and Federal programs.
- In coordination with RFTA Communication staff, assist in development, production and distribution of marketing and educational programs and materials directed at employers, employees, agencies and others to increase awareness of mobility choices.
- Direct outreach to area employers, agencies and other groups on available mobility programs and services.
- Participation in the integration and coordination of services, with both RFTA operated services, partner agencies, and others.
- Management of mobility permitting process and/or contract administration and compliance; including compliance with Title VI, Affirmative Action and Low English Proficiency (LEP).

- Experience managing consultants and contractors.
Job-Specific Knowledge
- Knowledge of principles and practices of local government, mobility management, micro-mobility, and human services.
- Experience with transportation technology program development, policy coordination, budgeting, contracting and project management.
- Basic knowledge of specialized areas such as transit and paratransit operations, and the activities of local human service providers.
- Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its specific applications to public transportation.
- Knowledge and experience with innovative mobility solutions and state of practice.
- Ability to read and understand transportation and program planning documents and standards.
Other
- Possession of valid Colorado driver license (or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire) and good driving record.
- Strong computer aptitude, with skills in Microsoft suite and the ability to learn new computer software applications.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, urban and regional planning, public administration, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional program or project management experience with at least two (2) years focusing on Innovative Mobility solutions.
Working Conditions:
Light physical effort required by handling objects up to twenty (20) pounds occasionally.
