Regional Research Coordinator
The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region. The Planning and Economic Development Division serves as an information hub for community and economic development and collects, analyzes and disseminates regional information related to land-use, economic conditions, growth and development. Planning and Economic Development is seeking a Regional Research Coordinator to support programmatic activities. The main duties of the position are to perform quantitative research through established demographic and economic data sources, develop and maintain regional economic conditions and trends, utilize ESRI-ArcGIS and apply qualitative economic research methods to support regional planning projects. Ideal candidates must possess a strong understanding of economic research using established economic data sets, familiarity with Texas development codes, strong communication and presentation skills and have experience working in community planning. Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community and regional planning, urban planning, public policy, economics, or public administration is required. Completion of graduate-level coursework in planning or public policy is preferred.
Experience: At least 12 months of professional work in community and regional planning, economic analysis, or public policy is required. Experience analyzing statistical data on either a regional, county, or municipal level is required. Experience use ArcGIS is required.
Salary: $42,000 - $55,000 per year annualized
