Transportation Planning for the Super Bowl

Now that we know the two teams who will duke it out on Feb 3rd, fans and advertisers can turn their attention to the year's biggest sporting event. But the Super Bowl is more than just a football game, it's also a transportation-planning challenge.

New Orleans will be hosting the Super Bowl on February 3, but long before kickoff, hours and hours of planning will have gone into coordinating the movement of the thousands of visitors descending on the city along with those who live and work in the Big Easy. Lt. Col. Jerry Sneed, New Orleans' Deputy Mayor for Public Safety has been leading much of the preparation. He spoke with Transportation Radio's Bernie Wagenblast to talk about what New Orleans is doing to prepare and what other cities can learn from its experience.
