Seattle Hosts 'Sustainable Neighborhood' Expo
2 September 2006 - 1:00pm
High Point in West Seattle, the country's largest urban sustainable, mixed-income community, will be host to the first ever green living expo.
"The largest single, redevelopment project in Seattle since World War II, High Point incorporates cutting-edge features including the country's largest urban natural drainage system and the first porous pavement public street in the state of Washington.
'High Point and its trend-setting green building and environmental sustainability strategies are something everyone should see and know about. This is the future of urban development,' said Tom Tierney, executive director of Seattle Housing Authority, which is presenting the event in conjunction with Seattle City Light and Seattle Public Utilities."
