Treasure Valley Home Sales Set Record

Idaho's Treasure Valley single-family home sales and dollar value break records.
"Boise economist John Church said the (housing) boom was being fueled by double-digit increases in home prices that are characteristic of a "housing bubble" that could burst and send local real estate values crashing.
Church said skyrocketing home prices were the result of outside investors who are "enthusiastically" snapping up area housing in hopes of eventually selling at a profit."
Others like "Idaho chief economist Mike Ferguson was less concerned about the local real estate market, arguing that experts usually attribute fears of a housing bubble to areas of the East and West coasts, where home values are appreciating at "an even more dramatic pace."
