Denver Inner-City Rail Proposal May Meet Opposition

Denver's Downtown Multimodal Access Planning Study touts the possibility of connecting destinations within Denver that are left out of the massive Fastracks plan.
This is the first significant proposal for rail within the City of Denver. However, local business groups may remobilize to defeat light rail on Broadway, the main north-south corridor into the Civic Center area. Also, Country Club interests may stall the proposal to connect Denver's two primary commerical districts - Downtown and Cherry Creek.
