Building Boom In Downtown St. Louis Lofts

Since 1999, more than 1,000 loft units have opened with more than 600 units under construction, and almost double that amount are expected over the next two years.
The downtown loft craze is reaching critical mass in St. Louis helping to boost the downtown population and leading to further redevelopment in the downtown core with commerical and office space. Over the next two years, large blocks of vacant buildings will be converted into lofts bringing vitality to downtown St. Louis. The article highlights several residents and former residents on thier perspective on "loft-living."
