"Since the Midtown project was approved in January, Brinkman has collected about 300 signatures on a petition calling for a vote by Gainesville residents on capping the height of new downtown buildings at 150 feet.It's part of his strategy to keep Gainesville from becoming, as he puts it, another South Florida.
