Kane County is working on the 2030 Land Resource Management Plan, to be released in November.
"The notion that Kane County, west of Chicago, remain a far western transition area, where city living flows into farm life and agriculture, is being recommended as the foundation for the new plan, county board chairman Mike McCoy told the Kane County Regional Planning Commission. A basic land-use scheme calls for half of Kane County's total land area to be retained in agriculture and open space."
