"This stark landscape is the foundation for Atlantic Station, an inner-city real estate endeavor in a place synonymous with suburban sprawl. Its developers contemplate 6.5 million square feet of office space, 1.4 million square feet of retail stores and entertainment centers, three hotels offering 1,000 rooms, and 2,500 homes.The project, embracing New Urbanist principles of walkable space where shopping and working and living are possible without driving replaces a 99-year-old steel mill that for its last quarter-century was winding down operations."
