Workforce development and innovation capacity are absolutely essential to modern manufacturing. Given the rapidly changing nature of manufacturing and shifting global supply chain patterns – potential re-shoring in particular - workforce development is taking on new importance and dimensions. Economic Developers must stay abreast of changes that affect workforce development to ensure a vibrant manufacturing base. Manufacturing has experienced significant challenges over the last few decades, but it also represents many of the best growth job opportunities.

This webinar will discuss what companies in the United States need, which determines what economic developers must work to address. While many discussions of modern manufacturing focus only on the challenges, this webinar will devote most of its attention to innovative models for overcoming those issues.
