National Urban Freight Conference, October 12-14, 2011
METRANS
The 4th National Urban Freight Conference (NUF) 2011 (October 12-14, 2011) will examine the impacts of goods movement and international trade in metropolitan areas. Papers and presentations cover all aspects of urban goods movement.
The conference will spotlight the issue of freight and environmental justice. Participants will leave with a knowledge of the state of the art in urban freight research, and potential contacts for future partnerships.
Tracks include:
- Models for urban goods movement
- Port operations
- Trucking/air/rail economics and logistics, productivity, labor issues
- Local and regional environmental externalities: congestion, air quality, environmental justice, etc.
- Policy and institutional issues in urban goods movement
- Security/vulnerability of goods movement
- Best practices/lessons learned
