Fall 2011 Graduate Sustainability Program at University of Oregon

OLIS (Oregon Leadership in Sustainability) is a brand new one year graduate certificate program focusing on the skills and knowledge necessary to make our cities sustainable. Students will learn how to prepare sustainability and adaptation plans; how to finance decentralized renewable energy infrastructure; how to design eco-cities; how to develop a sustainable indicators systems; the art of the "green deal"; what an alternative transportation system is; green buildings and green infrastructure; sustainable water recycling and how to make cities more resilient in the face of climate change. The program also focuses on leadership skills-self knowledge as well as how to make changes in an organization and in a community. Applications are being accepted now for Fall 2011 on a rolling basis.
