The loss of farmland will be highlignted as provincial and municipal leaders meet in Toronto on Wednesday for discussions organized by the Canadian Urban Institute think tank to find new approaches to manage urban sprawl and gridlock and balance growth with green space. In the Greater Toronto Area, more than anywhere else on the continent, farmland has become a real estate commodity.
