Build practical skills for sustainability and smart growth through BOCEP
Rutgers University Professional Development Institute
Rutgers University's Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program offers cost-effective and convenient ways to help you build the skills for better sustainable planning. Our online Deep Learning courses give you the opportunity to learn from seasoned practitioners with other smart professionals, and have no required meetings. You can participate in the class at your convenience.
Every BOCEP course offered between January and July are eligible for 14 AICP Certification Maintenance credits. You can also earn a Professional Certificate from Rutgers University's Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
From January 20 to February 27, BOCEP is offering three courses:
*Environmental Planning Law will build the expertise of planning, design and development professionals in legal issues involving the environment and land use. Key federal and state laws will be explored.
*Form Based Codes Studio provides virtual hands-on training for anyone interested in this innovative approach to urban design. Form based codes help communities protect their architectural character while providing flexibility as the market changes. And, as in all of our studios, you will be working on a real project for a real client.
*Introduction to Environmental Planning is a great class for every professional who wants to better connect to the growing sustainability movement.
Each course is $295, and a limited amount of financial aid is still available for each course. Planetizen readers can get $50 off by using promotion code BGBBS.
If your idea of online learning is a glorified slide presentation, give us the chance to change your mind. In our courses, you interact with other smart professionals who are looking to learn and enhance their practice. BOCEP courses help you be more creative and productive by helping you build practical skills while challenging you to think more deeply about the topic.
We have received more than 750 enrollments since 2005, and the vast majority of professionals who have taken our courses said in course evaluations that what they learned in their class was useful for their jobs and careers.
