Inner City Economic Forum Summit 2008 (Sept 25-26) - Register Now!
Initiative for a Competitive Inner City
The Inner City Economic Forum Summit 2008, "Putting the Inner City First: A Call to Action" will be a unique and timely event that capitalizes on a critical transition point of economic and political change in America.
ICIC and Brookings have developed this partnership in recognition that now is an opportune moment for policy, business and civic leaders to ensure that inner city economic issues are at the forefront of the federal agenda over the next decade. Discussions at the Summit will directly inform a joint ICIC-Brookings inner city revitalization policy paper that will be presented to US national leadership in 2009.
At the Summit, thought leaders, policy experts, urban practitioners, current and former federal agency leaders and representatives from the Obama and McCain campaigns will actively collaborate with participants to discuss and define concrete policy recommendations for business development and job creation in inner city economies. Sessions will focus on the role federal policy can play in a sustainable, business-led revitalization of America's inner cities, focusing in particular on critical areas such as infrastructure, workforce training, and capital and investment flows. Don't miss this opportunity to attend the Summit and shape the policy agenda for a new Administration!
