The City of Kingsport, Tennessee is soliciting statements of qualification for an exciting redevelopment opportunity in Northeast Tennessee consisting of 1 mm sf in more than 30 separate buildings on 20 acres in the heart of downtown.

Kingsport is experiencing an exciting renaissance with private investment downtown at >$15 mm in the past 3 years. $22 mm in public funds have been invested in the Kingsport Academic Village, which consists of 4 buildings with 3,000 students in the next 3 years. Eastman Chemical Company, headquartered in Kingsport, recently announced Project Reinvest, a $1.3 billion expansion/renovation project. Holston Valley Medical Center, one of 2 major medical centers in Kingsport, recently announced a $100 mm expansion/renovation plan. Kingsport Town Center recently announced a $45 mm expansion/renovation project that will transform Fort Henry Mall.
Kingsport is located at the intersection of I-81 and I-26 in the dynamic Mountain South region, 80 miles due north of Asheville, NC, with attributes similar to other foothills cities like Knoxville/Oak Ridge, TN, Blacksburg/Virginia Tech, VA, Chattanooga, TN, Greenville/Spartanburg, SC, Roanoke, VA and Winston-Salem, NC.
Marriott's award-winning mountain retreat, MeadowView, is also located in Kingsport. An expansion that will nearly double the size of the hotel was recently announced.
