Fiscal Wake-Up Tour
Tuesday, April 15
David Walker, Comptroller General of the United States will speak at the Federal Economic Development Forum with the Fiscal Wake-Up Tour's budgetary experts on the nation's fiscal future in regards to the upcoming change in administration. The Fiscal Wake-Up Tour is a joint public engagement initiative by The Concord Coalition, the Budgeting for National Priorities Project at the Brookings Institution, the Heritage Foundation, and Comptroller General of the United States David Walker. This tour is designed for attendees to understand the debate going on with regard to the nation's fiscal future by learning from budgetary experts.
David Walker, Comptroller General of the United States, and representatives from the institutions above will discuss the nation's long-term fiscal outlook from different perspectives. These participants do find consensus: something needs to be done to address the fiscal problems facing America. Topics will include the budget deficit, the current budget, and what Congress and a new administration must do in order to find a common solution.
