RFQ for Urban Design Consulting Services for the Redevelopment of Treasure Island
Mayor's Office of Base Reuse and Development
Treasure Island presents San Francisco with a unique opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to growth in an environmentally responsible manner by creating the most sustainable large development project in the United States. To give form to the guiding principles of the recently approved Development Plan, TIDA's private development partner, Treasure Island Community Development has created a land plan and design concepts framework based on input via an extensive public process. The next step in defining the physical form is the D4D document and DRDAP, which will govern all development through a detailed set of urban design guidelines and development standards, as well as establish a design review process. To assist in the process, TIDA will select a consultant to complement TICD's planning and design team by providing strategic level advice, peer review, and input into both content and process to MOBRAD staff.
The term of the contract is anticipated to be twelve to fourteen months, and will take place in three phases. It is the intention of the TIDA to use the same consultant for all phases, subject to satisfactory performance by the consultant in each phase. The RFQ can be downloaded at the following address: http://www.sfgov.org/site/treasureisland_index.asp?id=284, and includes a more detailed Project Background, Scope of Work, Necessary Qualifications, Qualifications Statement requirements, Selection Process, Terms and Conditions, Contracting Requirements and Protest Procedures.
