RFQ: Fair Oaks Access And Improvement Study For Community Mobility

Redevelopment Agency of Redwood City

The Redevelopment Agency of Redwood City, located halfway between San Francisco and San Jose is seeking the services of an urban planning firm with experience in landscape architecture, urban design, transportation planning, traffic engineering, civil engineering, and citizen involvement/participation through the use of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles. The selected consultant will produce the Fair Oaks Access and Improvement Study for Community Mobility in Redwood City's Fair Oaks Neighborhood as a result of participation from Fair Oaks residents and community leaders to identify and recommend improvement options to create pedestrian and bicycle-friendly streets, including identifying key routes linking Downtown with the Fair Oaks area.

The primary purpose of this project is to encourage and ensure community involvement and partnership in the planning and design of improvements to create a safer neighborhood environment for pedestrians and bicyclist in the Fair Oaks area, thereby allowing this low income, minority area to be knitted back into the urban fabric of the community.

An electronic copy of the RFQ including submittal requirements may be obtained from Redwood City's website at: www.redwoodcity.org/redevrfq. Firms (and their consulting team(s)) with experience collaborating with multiple government organizations and low income, minority neighborhoods in the design of transportation improvements using Crime Prevention through Environmental Design are encouraged to apply. .Approximately $160,000 is available for the study.
