This intensive three-day facilitation training features renowned trainer Mike Hughes of The Keystone Center and a balance of theory and practice that will prove invaluable for private sector, nonprofit, government agency, and community leaders.
Environmental and public policy facilitation training applies traditional facilitation techniques to environmental law and policy. Participants will learn methods for navigating the legal and political regimes particular to environmental conflicts. They will learn to balance competing interests and incorporate expert input to structure an agenda and process that satisfy all stakeholders. Participants will engage real conflicts with exercises to practice the skills taught. Attorneys may also earn up to 19 units of California MCLE credit. The UCLA School of Law is a State Bar of California-approved MCLE provider.

• Public policy facilitation basics
• Environmental facilitation exercise
Day 2
• Preparation and convening
• Identifying concerns and prioritizing

• Cultural competency
• Environmental facilitation exercises
Day 3
• Managing Conflict
• Environmental facilitation simulations
• Banquet Dinner: Connect with like-minded organizations and practitioners. Keynote address by Peter Adler of The Keystone Center
