RFQ: Request for Qualifications for the Redevelopment of Skillman Village
Montgomery Township
The Township of Montgomery has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ)to solicit qualifications and conceptual plans from developers with the capacity to transform the historic 256-acre township-owned site into an active, mixed-use and vibrant part of the town – minutes from downtown Princeton. The RFQ will be followed by a Request for Proposals from selected best qualified firms.
The original village operated as a self-contained public health facility since 1898. 100+ buildings: powerplant, train station, hospitals, school, theater, patient housing, farmland, lake. Site includes historic landscape and buildings designed by Charles W. Leavitt, Jr. and Augustus D. Shepard, Jr. Township seeking redevelopers with expertise in historic preservation/adaptive reuse, green building design/LEEDS, arts/cultural complex. Redevelopment to include restaurants, recreation, arts/culture, retail, office, and housing.
A pre-submittal meeting and site visit will be held on August 9 and September 6. Submission of qualifications and concept plan are due no later than 4:00 pm on September 22, 2006 (Eastern Standard Time).
