Learning from Italy
Playce
Bill Steiner, with 30 years work as a Place Maker and extensive international travel, leads an annual tour to Orvieto, Italy. Participants use the city as the lab in which to learn how culture, design and uses come together to create exceptional people places. The tour is a reintroduction to the subtle qualities and sheer joy that is experienced in people friendly places. Meet with local government officials who explain their philosophy and policies which contribute to a focus on quality of life. Orvieto is one of Italy's official Slow Cities and holds an annual Slow Food Festival. Next tour is September 23-October 1, 2006 with a June 2 deadline for application.
