Wildlife Biologist Services & Program Development for Natural Resource Stewardship.
Review and develop habitat management plans and/or develop a volunteer incentive-based stewardship program to promote protection of critical areas.
Urban Forester.
Provide on-call consulting services to assist implementation of the Community Forest Management Plan and the associated Best Management Practices manual. Assist in revising tree-related regulations and developing landscape management plans for city-owned properties. Assist staff and landowners with best management practices in site design and construction. Administer the Heritage Tree program. Provide educational workshops for staff and private landowners.
Transfer of Development Rights Program Review.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to the city's Transferable Development Rights program. An improved TDR program is essential to: 1) the city's downtown revitalization project; 2)a review of the city's growth strategy using new populations allocaiotn data; and 3) incentives for preserving environmentally sensitives areas by shifting density.
Submittal deadline is March 30, 2006.
