Rail~Volution 2006 Call for Presentations
Rail~Volution
Hailed as the transportation hub of the nation, Metropolitan Chicago will serve as the perfect backdrop for Rail~Volution 2006. The region boasts an intricately linked transit network, which has played a significant role in spurring an urban renaissance aimed at creating livable, vibrant, and economically efficient communities. From the urban core to the suburban fringe, Metropolitan Chicago will showcase its vast mobility options, new technologies and provide plenty examples of how livable communities with transit as a focus can be realized on-the-ground.
Each year Rail~Volution welcomes new voices to the discussion on livable communities. The conference offers a Core Curriculum that considers the basics of transit oriented development and tools for effective community planning as well as ‘Leading Edge' topics with the greatest relevance to Livable Communities, Transit Development, and Transit Oriented Development. These workshops showcase the best examples of community building and the challenges of turning plans into built projects. The program will allow comprehensive coverage of the "fundamentals" of Rail~Volution's message and explore the newest concepts facing our communities and our world.
