Learn New Strategies And Skills In Affordable Housing, Urban Design And Long-Range Planning
Rutgers University, Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy
Want to learn innovative strategies in affordable housing? Build new urban design skills? Learn effective techniques in long-range planning? Or get to know New Jersey planning law? Take a Bloustein Online Continuing Education for Planners (BOCEP) course in February.
BOCEP, which offers high quality, affordable, and convenient continuing education, has four courses available from February 22 to April 1. You can attend any of these courses at any time from a computer with an Internet connection. There are no scheduled meetings.
Affordable Housing Strategies discusses new, innovative and effective approaches for planning low to moderate-income housing around the United States. This course is best suited for housing and community development professionals, but other planners with a knowledge of housing issues will also benefit.
Urban Design Studio is a unique course that offers you the opportunity to learn design skills and concepts by working with classmates on urban design projects. This is a studio course that's open to urban designers, zoning professionals and any planning or community development professional who works on urban design issues.
Visioning without analysis is simply creating a wish list. In Long-Range Planning, you can learn how to prepare, analyze and promote visions that can be sustained over the long haul. Students will learn the potential or limits of planning techniques while applying them in the context of long-range plans.
If you want to work in New Jersey, or you want to get the state's Professional Planner license, consider taking New Jersey Planning Law. Students will get a thorough understanding of Municipal Land Use Law, Council on Affordable Housing regulations, and other laws that affect planners.
All of our courses are taught by practitioners with substantial experience in their fields. You can learn a great deal and share ideas with other planners from around the country. Our classes attract planning professionals at every level and from around the country. If you've never taken an online course, don't worry. Many of our first-time students didn't either, and more than 90% of BOCEP students surveyed said they would recommend the program to their colleagues.
