How to Become a Town Architect

How to Become a Town Architect, held November 12, 2005 on the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami, is an intensive introduction to the subject and part of a series of executive education courses offered by the Knight Program in Community Building at the University of Miami School of Architecture. This course combines real estate development with the School of Architecture's expertise in New Urbanism.
This one-day course provides a comprehensive overview of the process of becoming a town architect and focuses on the core responsibilities of the position. Town architects are essential to ensuring quality at the scale of architecture. Seminar attendees learn from industry leaders who are implementing the best current systems for construction oversight and design review. How to Become a Town Architect is scheduled to follow and complement the Guild Workshop offered by The New Urban Guild on Miami Beach on Nov. 10-11.
