RFQ for form-based codes
City of Farmers Branch
The City of Farmers Branch (pop. 27,508) is requesting qualifications from qualified firms and individuals for preparation of a form-based code for the West Side. The West Side (2374 acres) represents one-third of the City's land mass, nestled at the demographic center of the DFW Metroplex. The West Side represents an important opportunity to create integrated communities rather than large, single-use districts. The recently updated Comprehensive Plan for the West Side calls for amendment of existing development codes with an emphasis on the physical form.
The selected consultant or team will have strong experience with developing form-based codes, and the ability to fit innovative concepts within the context of local and Texas law. Experience record should detail municipal experiences with cities of similar size and issues.
The City of Farmers Branch may reject any or all of the submissions on any basis and without disclosure of a reason.
