Wizard Automates Mailing Label Generation in ArcGIS
Donoghue and Associates
Donoghue and Associates of Redlands, California, announces the release of its Mailing Label Wizard for ArcGIS, an extension to ESRI's ArcMap that enables users to easily generate mailing labels for owner and/or occupant notifications.
The Wizard steps ArcMap users through the process of selecting a subject parcel or other map feature, performing a buffer, adding or removing parcels from the buffer selection, and viewing or printing pre-formatted labels using the Wizard's built-in label viewer. The Wizard uses Crystal Reports 9 that ships with ArcGIS Desktop to provide beautifully formatted labels for a variety of Avery label types. Additional label types, forms, letters and other reports can be designed using Crystal Reports and added into the Wizard, allowing users to customize the reports to meet their organization's unique needs. The Mailing Label Wizard can accept address information in a variety of formats such as enterprise reporting and permitting systems, ArcSDE tables, and other tabular files.
Due to its ease-of-use design, even staff with little knowledge of ArcMap can easily generate labels using the Wizard. Staff time savings are immediate for agencies with manual or semi automated processes and, in most cases, the entire mailing label generation process can be performed in less than 1 minute using the Wizard. The Wizard's results can be saved and reloaded, allowing users to re-run a previous mailing without having to step through the entire process again. Reports can also be exported to Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF and text formats for archiving.
The product is available via direct order from Donoghue and Associates. For details, or to place an order, visit www.directgis.com.
