Request for Expression of Interest

City of Niagara Falls, NY

The City of Niagara Falls is seeking expressions of interest from firms that can provide the municipality with professional services in the functional area of economic development. A "short" list of three or four firms will be given the opportunity to make a formal proposal based on the strength of the Expression of Interest submitted.

The firm ultimately selected will identify a senior member of the company to lead the City's efforts to redevelop the downtown area and expand our tourism industry. (The Seneca Niagara Casino is located in the center of downtown development area. The State Park and world famous Cataracts border this area).

The Consultant will report directly to the Mayor and City Administrator. The City will provide an experienced economic development support person to assist the Consultant with local liaison, coordination, and set-up work. The selected consultant will have demonstrated the capacity to provide to the City development contacts and leads appropriate to the development market here. The Consultant will induce, facilitate and guide development investment. While the Consultant may be asked to prepare a brief work plan to outline work strategies, report writing will not be primary task. The success of the annual Consultant contract will be measured in terms of investment induced and/or jobs created.

The City seeks to contract for such services on an annual basis. The Senior Team Member will deliver services on site in the City of Niagara Falls a minimum of two days per month. Total services will be dependent upon economic development demand, proposed work strategies, and the limitations of the proposal selected. Successful performance will result in contract renewals.
