BACKSTAGE - Reverse Sides of Tourism
Interdisciplinary seminar, workshop and infoseek
at Forum Stadtpark Graz, December 2003
(Exhibition and publication will follow in Autumn 2004)
We are searching for contributions to phenomena of "tourisms": not only analyses of the "touristic gaze" or the seemingly "authentic" view of artists on to the stages of representation in tourist industry, but merely in views towards the backpages of tourisms (BACKSTAGE), on to the hidden technical as well as social infrastructures, on to the conditions of life and labor of employees, on to the flow of capital, goods and human power, on land use etc. - and all the planning processes involved.
First deadline for papers, project ideas and documentation about similiar projects will be the 20th of October 2003.
