THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON URBANISM: NEW AND GREEN

The International Symposium for Urbanism: New and Green is now accepting registrations for this important congress to be held in Havana, Cuba December 5-11, 2003. The Congress is the foremost conference for people interested in the impact of New Urbanism, Urban sustainability, in building or restoring mixed-use neighborhoods, creating energy efficient cities and environmentally appropriate communities. This conference is a must attend event for professionals interested in learning more about the importance of New Urbanism and Green Urbanism and their impact on an international scale.
The conference will include presentations by leading authorities on New and Green Urbanism, round table discussions and tours of Havana, Cojimar and Las Terrazzas.

Call for papers
The U.S. Conference Co-Chairs, Dr. John Gilderbloom and Stephen A. Roosa, and the European Co-Chair, Audun Engh, cordially invite you to submit a one-page abstract (along with a one page resume) for consideration to speak at the International Symposium for Urbanism: New and Green or chair a roundtable session. Suggested topics include but are not limited to: Regional Urbanism, Impact of Urbanism on Cities, New Urbanism, Creating Walkable Cities, Urban Housing, Impact of Energy on Urbanism, Urbanism and the Environment, Sustainable Development and Designing Green Buildings, Implementing Green Urbanism. The deadline for receipt of abstracts has been extended to 2 November 2003.
