GENERAL

The City of Riverview is seeking Request for Qualifications/Request for Proposals (RFQ/RFP) for updating its current Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Ordinance was adopted in 1989 and has received numerous amendments over the years. The City’s current Master Plan of Future Land Use was adopted in November 1997. The Zoning Ordinance Update should coordinate with and complement the Master Plan.

Proposals in response to the RFQ/RFP must be received by the City of Riverview no later than 4:00 p.m. September 16, 2002,

The response to this proposal must be submitted in two separate documents – the “Request for Qualifications” and the “Request for Proposal”. Respondents must submit ten (10) bound copies each of their qualifications and proposals and one (1) unbound copy of their combined qualifications and proposals to the Purchasing Agent, City of Riverview, 14100 Civic Park Drive, Riverview, MI 48192. The actual cost of the proposal may be included within the request for proposal or submitted separately at the same time as the rest of the documents. The proposal containers must be marked “Zoning Ordinance Update”. Proposals received after the deadline of September 16, 2002 will be returned unopened to the proposer, C.O.D. It is the proposer’s responsibility to insure that the proposal is received prior to the deadline. No exception to this policy will be made.

BACKGROUND

The City of Riverview is a Downriver community of approximately 4.44 square miles and a 2000 Census population of 13,272. Riverview is fortunate to have a wide variety of housing stock ranging from starter homes to properties in excess of $500,000.00. The City also enjoys a good industrial base and seeks to attract highly technical businesses as part of its economic development outreach. Many new development projects are the result of assemblages and redevelopment efforts due to the maturity of the community and the limited amount of undeveloped land available.
