26-024 City of Las Vegas Mobility Master Plan Update

The overall objective for this study is to conduct a comprehensive update to the City of Las Vegas Mobility Master Plan (MMP) completed in 2016. This MMP Update will serve as a guide for transportation decisions and prioritize the public investment in infrastructure for the next 20 years. The MMP was intended to be a living document, and an update is necessary at this time to account for completed improvements and to evaluate evolving transportation needs.

This update will document how the City of Las Vegas intends to invest in infrastructure solutions and technologies to advance safe, sustainable, and equitable mobility. The MMP Update will identify recommended projects and their projected timelines for implementation based on the priorities of local, regional, state, and federal agencies as well as funding availability. In addition, it will focus on how the city is reforming its approach to safety through its Vision Zero Program with an emphasis on enabling safe mobility and access for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders of all ages and abilities.

The MMP Update will establish a framework for capital projects that deliver high return on this investment, both in terms of moving people and goods more efficiently, and in inducing private development investments. Multimodal opportunities such as light rail, street cars, bus rapid transit, protected bike lanes, and/or other modes that encourage mobility choices other than just automobiles will be a key focus of this plan. The plan will also include provisions for street cross-sections that ensure safe, walkable connections to transit stops and between destinations within the community.
