GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:The Director for the ReImagine North of Main Initiative (RNoM) and University Community Relations is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic management of the partnership, serving as both the public face of the partnership as well primary point of contact. ReImagine North of Main is a partnership local businesses, university, government, nonprofits and, most importantly, residents?committed to making a collective impact, and dedicated to improving the quality of life in the North of Main neighborhood of Fitchburg. The director will help coordinate downtown revitalization activities within the context of the Main Street Four Point Approach. They will also serve as part of the University Town Gown Team working with RNoM and other shared efforts. The Director must be well organized, detail oriented, creative, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, self-motivated and an excellent communicator. Additionally, they must be capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment, while coordinating public and private interests.
The collaborative initiative is led by a Leadership Team of: Fitchburg State University, City of Fitchburg, Fitchburg Art Museum, Minority Coalition of North Central Massachusetts, Montachusett Opportunity Council and NewVue Communities. Fitchburg State University will serve as the lead for this collaborative, and the Director is employed by Fitchburg State University. For more on RNoM see our website: Reimaginenom.com. The partnership is focused on three key areas: economic development, housing, and community engagement, while advocating for the vision of a more vibrant and sustainable college-downtown focused on arts and culture.
Over the past three years, ReImagine North of Main has been responsible for systems change throughout Fitchburg's North of Main Neighborhood. This position will have the opportunity to continue the work of the partnership, while also having the opportunity to shape and develop the organization for long-term sustainability. This position requires someone capable of managing complexity with a comprehensive approach to program and partnership development. They will work closely with business owners, property owners, elected officials, developers, the university, downtown stakeholders, and the community to create a vibrant organization and community.
