The City of Santa Cruz is currently seeking a Senior Planner in the Advance Planning Division of the Planning and Community Development Department. Under direction, the Senior Planner manages, oversees, reviews and performs complex professional land use and urban planning work, such as current planning, advance planning, implementation of the City’s General Plan, development review, management of Citywide pre-application review, and major, complex planning projects; provides direction and training to assigned staff; and, performs other related duties as assigned. The minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, or a related field and four years of increasingly responsible experience in urban or regional planning. A valid California driver’s license or the ability to provide alternate transportation which is approved by the appointing authority is also required.
