Senior Transportation Planner

The Senior Transportation Planner works collaboratively to support the Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) d/b/a Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA)'s mission to plan, prioritize, and fund the transportation system in Palm Beach County, Florida. The Senior Planner's primary responsibilities include administering local funding programs, creating maps and analyzing data, coordinating project review and delivery, serving as a liaison to a TPA advisory committee, and collaborating with partner agencies on transportation projects and initiatives that advance the TPA's vision of a safe, efficient, and connected multimodal transportation system. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in urban/regional planning or a related field and 6 years of experience.
• Master’s degree in urban/regional planning or a related field and 4 years of experience.
• GIS experience analyzing transportation data and producing maps.
• Experience working with a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is preferred.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred.

Knowledge

• Federal and State transportation funding programs and regulations.
• Familiarity with Complete Streets, Vision Zero, and Design Standards.
• Local government comprehensive planning requirements relating to transportation.

Skills

• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in readily understandable plans and reports.
• Be skillful in using computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, and other databases.
